5 Tools Worth Paying For If You’re Self-Employed:

Here are tools I think are 100% worth investing in if you want to build a life that works for you:

  • For your creatives > CanvaPro
    • Really easy to use. Pretty templates. Great for YouTube thumbnails, IG posts, pitch decks, and worksheets.
    • Free plan available
    • Pro starts at €11.99/month (it's what I use!)
  • For your portfolio > Notion
    • Make a sleek one-page portfolio or link-in-bio page. I use it for project tracking too!
    • Free to start (I'm currently here but will upgrade soon!)
    • Plus plan at $8/month.
  • For your time-productivity > Toggl Track
    • Perfect for time-blocking and seeing where your day really goes. Helps build structure, especially if you're working from home. Plus the interface is so nice!
    • Free plan available
    • Starter plan starts at $10/month. (I recommend this if you want to hire a small team for your small business & enable billable hours!)
  • For your finances > Wave
    • Great for invoicing, keeping receipts, and budget tracking.
    • Free plan available
    • Pro upgrade for automations and banking. (You can customize your invoice + integrate to your own website which is really cool)
  • For your skills improvement > Skillshare
    • We always need to upskill. Whether it’s copywriting, marketing, or business strategy, you’ll definitely find a class worth taking.
    • Starts around $14/month with free trial. (I've learned coding recently & the classes here have been helpful on top of my freeCodeCamp journey!)

The truth about my Spain move.

Okay, ever since I posted my Barcelona vlogs, there’s always at least one question in the comments asking:

🤷🏻‍♀️ Why did you move to Spain?
🤷🏻‍♀️ Was it hard to bring your dogs?
🤷🏻‍♀️ How did you even start the process?

And honestly? I could make a whole video about it… But I probably won’t. 🙈

I’m not an expert on moving countries.
What I am is someone who asked for help (& paid for it!)

I worked with a lawyer and a whole team to make this move happen. Because I was serious. And I knew that if I wanted to keep the momentum going, I needed support.

It’s the same thing with freelancing or self-employment.

When I first launched my Freelance Worksheets 2025 on Gumroad, I said:

“You don’t have to pay for something unless you’re committed to it.”

And I still believe that.

So if you're truly committed to being self-employed or going after something big, paying for help, tools, or education isn’t a waste.

It’s a sign that you’re ready to take the next step.

TL;DR:

It’s not a waste to invest in tools that keep your freelance life running.
If you're serious about something, spending a little can go a long way. Whether on a course, a designer, or even... a lawyer hehehe

Have you received your freebie yet?
